Ahman Green Update

posted in Houston Texans, Free Agency, Green Bay Packers, NFL |

Ahman GreenThe Green Bay Press Gazette is reporting that Houston gave Ahman Green a four year, $23 million dollar deal, that will pay Green $8 million in year one of the deal. This is far above the limit that Green Bay had established for Green.

It appears he will certainly be the main ball carrier for the Texans, where he joins former Packer Coach, Mike Sherman.

Green Bay simply must address their running back situation, as Oklahoma State product Vernand Morency currently #1 on the depth chart. There are rumors that GB could be interested in Travis Henry, who was cut by Tennessee. More than likely, the Packers will add at least one back in the draft.

A popular rumor website is speculating that the Lions could trade Tatum Bell to GB, but it does seem unlikely that the two teams would trade within the division.

There is never a main ball carrier in Houston or Denver. Period.

What about Terrell Davis, Clinton Portis, and Reuben Droughns?

Days gone by…if Tatum Bell isn’t good enough to carry the load in Denver, neither is Travis Henry. It will be another committee.
