Mustain visits USC

The Mitch Mustain saga took another turn as the Morning News of Springdale, Arkansas is reporting that he will be visiting USC within the next two weeks. Mustain would be forced to sit out next season, but then would have to compete with highly touted Mark Sanchez to follow John David Booty. Stay tuned for the next part of the Mustain story

Butch Davis and UNC make major score

In just a few months on the job, Butch Davis has improved North Carolina’s football program drastically, and today defensive tackle prospect Marvin Austin announced he was staying in state at UNC. Austin is a huge signing for the Tar Heels and should contribute right away.

Top prospect McKnight picks USC

Joe McKnight, the top running back in the Class of 2007 has chosen USC over his in-state school, LSU. McKnight joins top five back Marc Tyler as 2007 USC commits and jumps into a crowded back field at Tailback U. It will be interesting to see how the situation plays out, and if Tyler remains committed to USC.

Toliver commits to LSU

Top 2007 wide receiver recruit, Terrance Toliver of Hempstead, Texas, has announced he will attend LSU. With the departure of both starting wide receivers, Toliver could make an instant impact. The 6′4 receiver has been called the best Texas prep WR since Detroit Lions star Roy Williams. LSU is still in the running for top halfback Joe McKnight of River Ridge, LA. Landing both Tolliver and McKnight, to go with top ten 2007 recruit WR Ron Brooks would give new quarterback Ryan Perriloux an assortment of talented targets.

Brewster follows father to Minnesota

Top 2007 quarterback recruit Clint Brewster has announced he will withdraw his commitment to Illinois and follow his father to the University of Minnesota, reports the Denver Post. Former Denver Broncos assistant, Tim Brewster was recently named the head coach at Minnesota, but Clint had announced he planned to keep his commitment to Ron Zook at Illinois. Minnesota quarterback Bryan Cupito is graduating, but redshirt freshman Adam Weber appears likely to start in 2007.
