DE6 - Charles Johnson, Georgia Charles JohnsonOfficial Bio

NFL.com Profile
Height: 6-2
Weight: 270
40 yard dash: 4.84
Grade: 89
Strengths:
Johnson has good technique, who gets low against blocks and takes away leverage. He works hard in rushing the passer and has a variety of moves to beat offensive linemen. He has good natural strength that he uses to disengage from blockers. He is a smart player who is not easily fooled and tackles well in space.
Weaknesses:
Johnson does not have elite explosiveness that would allow him to be a top speed rushing defensive end. He lacks ideal height and his productive junior season may have been a result of teams focusing on Quinton Moses at the other defensive end spot.
Overall:
Charles Johnson moved up draft boards after a strong junior season in which he totaled 9.5 sacks. However his upside may be limited as he does not have elite explosiveness, ideal height, or above average strength. He has a good chance of being an productive player at the NFL level, but without any elite skills, he will be forced to rely on a good motor and solid technique to succeed.
