Credit: Icon SMI Kansas CB Aqib Talib Scouting Report Height: 6-2, Weight: 180, Draft Grade: 92
Strengths: Terrific natural athlete with ideal NFL frame…good ball skills and natural instincts make him a playmaker…has the strength to play press coverage…physical player who does not mind using his strength…played some offense at Kansas and can contribute in the return game…leader of the Kansas defense… Weaknesses: Does not have elite timed speed….gambles too much and can give up big plays…plays too high at times and vulnerable to double moves…needs to add to his base to improve his tackling…technique is still raw…may not fit every scheme… Overall: Talib is one of the premier athletes at the CB position available in the 2008 NFL Draft. He should fit well with a team that asks their corners to handle man coverage, especially if given deep help to make up for his lack of elite speed and aggressive nature. His versatility on the surprising Kansas Jayhawks is sure to capture the attention of NFL scouts. |
