Oklahoma State WR Adarius Bowman Scouting Report
Height: 6-4, Weight: 220, Draft Grade: 88

Strengths: Adarius Bowman is one of the more physical wide receivers entering the 2008 NFL Draft…Bowman has above average size and excels in the intermediate area and goal-line situations…Adarius Bowman should become a dominant blocker on the outside…Terrific natural athlete…Adarius Bowman has a knack for going up and attacking the football at its highest point…Bowman does well amongst traffic of defenders…Bowman has a flare for the dramatic and can make phenomenal catches at times…

Weaknesses:
Adarius Bowman did himself no favors at the Senior Bowl where he did not perform as well as was expected and dropped several passes, including a possible game-clinching TD in the game itself…Many observers believe that Adarius Bowman will not set the world on fire with his 40 time, this will cause his stock to continue to drop at the combine…character concerns after being dismissed from UNC due to drug charges...he must work on his hands and catching the ball away from his body and not allowing it to get too close…does he have the acceleration to play WR at the next level?...Adarius Bowman should be able to get off the ‘jam’ at the line of scrimmage, but once he does—how much separation will he be able to obtain against opposing defensive backs…the recent initial struggles of receivers the likes of Mike Williams and Dwayne Jarrett does not help Adarius Bowman’s cause…in all likelihood Adarius Bowman will never translate into a downfield threat…

Overall: There has been a recent swirl of negativity abounding around the prospect of Adarius Bowman in the NFL. The negativity is understandable considering his recent post-collegiate struggles, but it is probably gone a bit too overboard considering Adarius Bowman has some excellent skills and can absolutely progress into a every down WR in the National Football League. He needs some work on route running and focusing on every single play to enable himself the best chance at being a consistent option in an NFL teams passing attack. His stock has dropped some, but it shouldn’t drop as far as some pundits are predicting.
